TRAINING
I worked in libraries for almost thirty years and during that time I specialised in local studies and later in a community focused role which allowed me the opportunity to develop my passion for reminiscence both in terms of developing and delivering sessions and training others.
Together with a colleague from Stoke-on-Trent Museums, I developed an Open College Network (OCN) accredited course called "Delivering Reminiscence". This course was very successful and was delivered by myself for more than six years.
Managing the Adult Learning service in Stoke-on-Trent for eight years gave a me clear understanding of best practice when delivering quality training; ensuring that the needs of all are met during training sessions.
Following on from the OCN course, I have delivered various different informal formats of reminiscence training to suit the needs of my clients. Participants have included library and museum staff, care workers and volunteers. My experience of working in a vast variety of settings means that I am able to tailor delivery to the needs of each unique group.
